In his first address after being questioned by Enforcement Directorate (ED), Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Thursday demanded a formidable opposition from the people.

While addressing the gathering in Mumbai, Thackeray urged the people to vote for all his candidates in the Maharashtra assembly elections and help his party become a strong opposition.

This might be the first time a politician is making such demand but what this state needs today is nothing but a strong opposition. I appeal the people to give me a formidable opposition to raise your issue,” Raj Thackeray said.

With this demand, Thackeray clarified that he is not seeking power but the leadership of Opposition in the state. MNS has fielded more than 100 candidates for the Maharashtra assembly elections which are scheduled on October 21.

MNS doesn’t have the strength to form a government in Maharashtra and therefore, the party is seeking a strong opposition.
