Going by the buzz, BJP could face another upset in Maharashtra. There are rumours rife that after Eknath Khadse, Pankaja Munde may say goodbye to the party and join Shiv Sena. However, there is no official announcement regarding the same.

Khadse was associated with BJP for four decades and recently, he resigned from the party to join the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). His swearing-in ceremony was a grand affair. Khadse had expressed his disappointment towards BJP and even mentioned that former CM, Devendra Fadnavis, destroyed his life.

While speaking on the occasion, Khadse said that he never thought he would leave BJP for which he worked 40 years. “I worked to strengthen the party for 40 years but I was backstabbed and insulted,” he added.

Earlier, after resigning from the BJP, Khadse blamed Devendra Fadnavis for his resignation. He alleged that the former Chief Minister instructed the police to file a “false” harassment case against him.

“Devendra Fadnavis destroyed my life. I feel sad about quitting the BJP but I have no choice. Fadnavis instructed the police to file a case against me on false allegations of harassment by a woman. I came clean on the corruption charges levelled against me,” Khadse said.

Munde too has expressed similar disappointments in the past. Pankaja contested the election from Parli Vidhan Sabha seat but lost to her own cousin, Dhananjay Munde of the NCP, in 2019. She had won this seat twice earlier in 2009 and 2014.

The speculations regarding Pankaja Munde joining Shiv Sena or MVA started gaining momentum post the Dussehra rally. Munde was a part of the annual Dussehra rally at Bhagwangad in Beed district on October 25, during the same she all praises for the leadership of Uddhav Thackeray and even mentioned NCP Supremo Sharad Pawar highly in her address.

Furthermore, Pankaja said it had been her father Gopinath Munde’s dream to hold a rally at Shivaji Park in Mumbai, and that may come true next year as she may hold a rally at Shiv Theerth at Shivaji Park. It is noteworthy that Shiv Sena's Dussehra rally is organised at Shivaji Park. In her speech during that rally, Munde refrained from making any comments about Fadnavis or any other BJP leaders.

Not just this, last week when Fadnavis and other BJP leaders were on a three-day tour of Marathwada, Munde also avoided meeting up with them claiming that she was held up.

Will Munde too join the ranks in the current MVA government and will it be another big blow to BJP in Maharashtra?
