Although it got fewer votes than expected in Maharashtra in the Lok Sabha elections, the Mahayuti got two lakh more votes than the Mahavikas Aghadi in Mumbai. Therefore, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed confidence on Thursday that even if the elections are held, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will fly its saffron flag and the seats will increase in the assembly elections as well. Fadnavis commented that the Mahavikas Aghadi's victory in the Lok Sabha elections was virtual.


A Vijay Sankalp Mela was organised at Rangsharda Auditorium in Bandra to campaign for BJP candidate Kiran Shelar from Mumbai Graduate Constituency. It was attended by Fadnavis, Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar, MLAs Atul Bhatkhalkar, Praveen Darekar, former MP Gopal Shetty, Manoj Kotak and others.

Senior BJP leader Madhu Devlekar was getting elected from Mumbai Graduate Constituency. This BJP seat was given to an ally for many years. But now it has been regained and it is necessary to win this seat to answer the false propaganda, Fadnavis said.


Review of performance in Lok Sabha elections

Four important meetings have been held at the organisational level of the BJP on Friday and one meeting will review the performance in the Lok Sabha elections and the other meetings will decide the preparation and strategy for the assembly elections. BJP's Maharashtra in-charge and Union Joint General Secretary Minister Shiv Prakash will review the performance in the Lok Sabha elections in a meeting of selected regional office bearers.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar, steering committee member Chandrakant Patil along with state officials, MLAs, MPs and other leaders will be present for these meetings. A separate meeting of MLAs and booth level office bearers will be held.
