Mantralaya - The first phase of local body elections in the state are scheduled from 27 November onwards. Mantralaya, the hub of political and bureaucratic activity at all times, is currently as deserted as it can get. There are no ministers around, being busy in their respective constituencies trying to whip up support for their respective parties. Elections will be contested on 214 seats, and citizens descending on the seat of state bureaucracy are facing problems due to this sudden absence of ministers from the various departments. Rakesh Pandewad, who came all the way from Nanded to meet the state education minister, but he couldn't meet him so a dejected Pandewad returned to his village.
