Maratha reservation issue and agitation regarding the same, both in Maharashtra Assembly and outside the house, has been intensified with Maratha Kranti Morcha (MKM) activists protesting at Azad Maidan for a long while against the state government.

Earlier, MKM had warned about a huge agitation and a rally against the government over their demand for reservation. However, the activists are adamant that they will not move from Azad Maidan till their demands are met.

Protestor Virendra Patil asserted that they will not be afraid of the state government in any way and will not move from Azad Maidan till the Maratha community gets a reservation. Along with reservation, the Maratha community also demands the removal of criminal cases against youth during the agitation earlier.

Maharashtra government has hinted that they will introduce a bill regarding Maratha reservation in the state Assembly. However, the opposition has been constantly demanding the state government to present the State backward class commission’s report. All parties including a delegation of MKM were invited in a meeting with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday to discuss the same.
