With speculations about people forming a political front in the name of Maratha movement, a section of Maratha community on Tuesday warned those who plan to do the same saying that “they will be taught a lesson”.

While speaking to the media in a press conference at Mumbai’s Maratha Patrakar Sangh, Maratha Kranti Morcha’s Abasaheb Patil and Ramesh Kerepatil said that they are against the “politicisation” of their social movement and alerted that no politician should try to divide the coordinators of Maratha Kranti Morcha.

Maratha Kranti Morcha is a movement but some self-appointed coordinator is trying to build a political party with the name of this morcha. The so-called Suresh Patil, who is trying to do so, has no support of the Maratha community,” Abasaheb Patil.

In a planned statewide meeting in Tuljapur, Maratha Kranti Morcha will form a statewide committee and coordinators will be appointed at district-level and Taluka-level.

Earlier, the government had decided to provide 50 per cent concession for the fee in educational institutions. However, many institutions are still charging full fees. If Maratha Kranti Morcha agitates regarding this issue, the government and concerned authorities of the institutions will be responsible for the same, informed Abasaheb Patil.
