"As elections near, Uddhav Thackeray suddenly remembers the Marathi people," said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday, July 1. "Now there will be renewed talk of a plan to separate Mumbai from Maharashtra. Mumbai was once like a goose that laid golden eggs, but they chose to harm it instead. While the BJP government has transformed Mumbai, their actions aimed at driving out the Marathi community," he alleged.
The BJP's state convention was held at the National Sports Complex in Worli on Tuesday. At this time, Fadnavis harshly criticised Thackeray.
Uddhav Thackeray only did politics in the name of Marathi. Our government took the decision to provide houses to those living in BDD chawls and the poor in Dharavi, Fadnavis mentioned. The word 'secular' in the Constitution does not mean secular, but rather tolerance of all religions. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari asserted on this occasion that Hindutva means nationalism.

‘We are proud of every language’
Marathi is compulsory in Maharashtra and the third language is optional. Marathi has to be taught in schools, but we are proud of Hindi and every language of the country.
We will not tolerate anyone who puts English on a pedestal and opposes Indian languages. Thackeray made Hindi mandatory and we kept the third language optional. Still, after coming out of power, Thackeray, as usual, has taken a double-edged stance by vacillating. But without bowing to anyone's pressure, a decision will be taken in the interest of the students of the state, said Fadnavis.
