Days ahead of the Independence Day, the Maharashtra government issued an order listing the names of ministers who will hoist flags in 19 districts of the state on the D-day, August 15.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will hoist the flag at the state headquarters in Mantralaya, Mumbai, at 9.05 am, while Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis will hoist the flag at Nagpur.
As per the list revealed by the government, Mangal Prabhat Lodha in Mumbai Suburban district. The list of district-wise ministers included Sudhir Mungantiwar (Chandrapur), Chandrakant Patil (Pune), Radhakrishna Vikhroli-Patil (Ahmednagar), Girish Mahajan (Nashik), Dadaji Bhuse (Dhule), Gulabrao Patil (Jalgaon), Ravindra Chavan (Thane), Deepak Kesarkar (Sindhudurg), Uday Samant (Ratnagiri), Atul Save (Parbhani), Sandeepan Bhumre (Aurangabad), Suresh Khadse (Sangli), Vijaykumar Gavit (Nandurbar), Tanaji Sawant (Osmanabad), Shambhuraj Desai (Satara), Abdul Sattar (Jalna) and Sanjay Rathod (Yavatmal) will be hoisting the flags in the districts assigned to them.
Whereas in the remaining 16 districts, district collectors will be hoisting the Tricolour as the CM is yet to induct a few more ministers in the cabinet.
The Amravati divisional commissioner will hoist the flag in Amravati while district collectors in Kolhapur, Raigad, Beed, Hingoli, Wardha, Gondia, Bhandara, Gadchiroli, Akola, Solapur, Latur, Washim, Buldhana, Palghar and Nanded.
Besides, it is pertinent to note that this development came despite no portfolio allocation and appointment of guardian ministers to respective districts yet. On August 9, after a delay of over 39 days, the Maharashtra cabinet was expanded and 18 ministers were sworn in. Of these, nine are from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and nine from rebel Shiv Sena camp led by Shinde.
