Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Sandeep Deshpande launched a sharp attack on senior IAS officer Ashwini Bhide, alleging that her "ego is even bigger than Prime Minister Narendra Modi's" while criticising the handling of infrastructure projects in Mumbai.
Deshpande claimed that bureaucratic arrogance had delayed several public projects and alleged that decisions were being taken without adequately considering citizens' concerns. He questioned the functioning of the administration and said public representatives were being sidelined in the decision-making process.
Commenting on the recent protest by the "Cockroach Janata Party" in Delhi, where police resorted to a lathi-charge on demonstrators, Deshpande compared the police action to the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, alleging that the protesters were subjected to excessive force.
His remarks come amid ongoing political debates over infrastructure development and governance in Mumbai.
