Mumbai Congress on Thursday expelled its 15 office bearers ahead of the assembly elections in Maharashtra which are scheduled on October 21. 

The expelled party leaders include Mumbai Mahila Congress Vice President Pushpa Ahir, Arjun Singh, Amit Bhilwara among others. 

These office bearers have been expelled from the party for carrying out “anti-party” activity during the ongoing election campaign for the assembly polls. 

In a press statement, Mumbai Regional Congress Committee (MRCC) stated that the 15 office-bearers have been expelled from the party till further notice.

This decision was taken on the instructions of Avinash Pande who is the party’s election in-charge for Mumbai. It was informed that those expelled were campaigning against the party candidate.
