Telangana BJP MLA T Raja Singh on February 25, urged the Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to survey and repair the forts of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

He was speaking during a Shivaji Jayanti event in the Thane district's Mira Bhayander region. The local police had denied permission for the march, citing concerns about law and order. However, the Bombay High Court (HC) approved the rally one day earlier.

At a press conference earlier, he discussed the importance of Shivaji Jayanti and mentioned that it is now celebrated globally as a memorial to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who had the greatest concern for his subjects.

The Hyderabadi MLA from Goshamahal also refuted rumours that his rallies might spark turmoil in the Mira Bhayander area.

Coincidentally, on the eve of the idol consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, there had been communal clashes on Mira Road.

The BJP leader gave a speech at Mira Road on February 26, and the police in Mira Bhayandar, Vasai Virar, claimed on Monday that they are reviewing transcripts of the speech because they believe Singh made some offensive remarks. A senior police official stated that they would seek legal advice regarding whether or not to take legal action against him following their analysis of the speech.

Taking to X, T. Raja Singh posted, "You didn't have the strength to stop us... Look, he came and did a program on Mira Road and also gave you good answers... Understand, otherwise we will have to understand in the future... I thank the youth of Mira Road and Mumbai for coming in large numbers in support of Sanatan Dharma. Jai Shri Ram."

The official said the speech he gave was video recorded. It looks like, at certain points, he has used some words and phrases that could violate his undertaking.

Police refused to permit T. Raja Singh to hold a demonstration along Mira Road, the scene of last month's communal riots. However, the Bombay High Court granted permission, citing Singh's pledge to refrain from using hate speech. The zonal DCP received a written promise from the Telangana MLA that he would refrain from using hate speech.

A few thousand people, mostly young people, showed out for the Sakal Hindu Samaj's nighttime rally, confirmed an officer. The rally concluded at 7:30 pm, just a few hours before Shab-e-Baraat, when Muslims spent the night praying in mosques.

Speaking to the crowd from the top of an open truck, Singh mentioned the life events of Chhatrapati Shivaji for more than 40 minutes. During this time, he may have used some offensive language towards the Muslim minority. In addition, he urged everyone to swear allegiance to a Hindu Rashtra and to oppose terrorism, conversion, and the killing of cows.

In his speech, he claimed that mosques are built illegally at some forts of Shivaji Maharaj. He asked CM Shinde and Dy CM Devendra Fadnavis to survey and liberate Shivaji Maharaj's forts.
