Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut has alleged that the transfer of the Sushant Singh Rajput death case to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is scripted and asserted that Mumbai Police will continue with the investigation.

Raut raised several questions over the decision to transfer the SSR death case to CBI. He asked what happen suddenly since the matter was being probed by Mumbai police and investigations are not complete.

“Why Bihar Police came into the picture? What does the Bihar government have to do with this? The matter was raised in Bihar assembly and transferred to CBI within 24 hours. I think the screenplay has already been written and the demand to transfer the case to CBI was made according to it,” Raut said.

The Shiv Sena leader alleged that some people in Bihar asked Sushant’s father to file an FIR. “If this was all pre-decided by those in power, why react? The crime has taken place in Mumbai and suddenly it gained momentum. What happened so suddenly?” Raut asked.

Raut further said that everything that is happening seems to be pre-decided. This matter concerns the reputation of Mumbai Police which is world-renowned and it is not about hiding anything, he added.

The Shiv Sena leader further said that this was an attempt to malign the image of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra. Such cases happen in other states like Bihar and Gujarat, shouldn’t they be transferred to the CBI, Raut asked.

“Sushant was a Mumbaikar. The fame and name he earned were in Mumbai. Where were Bihar Police and Nitish Kumar when this happened? Now, you want to defame us. Mumbai Police will continue the probe as it is their right,” he said.

Earlier, the centre approved the demand of the Bihar government to transfer the case to CBI. The Supreme Court was also apprised about it and the CBI will begin investigating this case after the apex court’s verdict.
