Maharashtra Environment Minister and Yuva Sena chief, Aaditya Thackeray finally broke his silence and dismissed all allegations of his involvement in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.

Thackeray, son of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, in a statement, rubbished all the theories and reports doing rounds on social media linking him with late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death.

Labelling reports linking him to the SSR death case as ‘baseless’ and ‘dirty politics’, Thackeray hit out at the opposition saying that he is being unnecessarily dragged in the case.

He said that his name was being dragged by the opposition out of political despair as they can’t handle the success of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government and its efforts in handling the COVID-19 crisis. “This is why they started dirty politics over Sushant Singh Rajput’s case,” the Yuva Sena chief asserted.

Thackeray released his statement in Marathi on Twitter and said that using someone’s death for political gains is inhumane while adding that the demise of Sushant Singh Rajput was “unfortunate and shocking”.

“People are doing mud slinging on me personally and members of the Thackeray family. I have no connection with Sushant Singh Rajput’s death in any manner. This is politics over someone’s death and it is inhumane,” he said while admitting that he has close bonds with Bollywood actors, pointing out that this was not a crime.

Thackeray further said that he will not get involve in anything which would affect the dignity of Maharashtra, his political party and his family. “As the grandson of Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray, I would clarify that I won’t get involved in any matter which affects the dignity of Maharashtra, Shiv Sena and Thackeray family,” he added.
