Amid the #MeToo movement on the rise and sexual harassment allegations against Nana Patekar and two others, Mumbai Women Congress on Thursday organised a protest at Oshiwara Police Station in solidarity with Tanushree Dutta demanding the arrest of three accused.

The morcha was carried out under the leadership of Mumbai Women Congress president Dr Ajanta Yadav and hundreds of women participated in the same. While appreciating Tanushree Dutta for speaking about the harassment she faced 10 years ago, Yadav said that they salute her courage.

She should get justice for the atrocity committed against her and in this regard, we met with Senior Police inspector – Shailesh Pasalwar – and Women’s Commission chief Vijaya Rahatkar at Oshiwara Police station,” informed Yadav. 

Yadav further said that in view of the sexual harassment of women working at the place of work, the committee should be formed and a helpline should be started. Those who commit atrocities against women should be severely punished.

Yadav further said that in the view of increasing sexual harassment cases against working women, a committee should be formed and a helpline service shall be initiated. The harassers shall be punished.
