The Opposition has been creating chaos in the state assembly sessions over the farmers’ loan waiver issue.
They also burnt the budget copies in protest, after which nine Congress and 10 NCP MLAs were suspended. Do farmers truly need loan waiver? And if the loan is waived off, will it help farmers? Mumbai Live spoke to Mumbaikars to seek their opinion on the issue.
Many Mumbaikars said that farmers should get a loan waiver but that farmers don't get it. The state only promises the loan waiver but doesn't deliver. Another Mumbaikar said that farmers are just pawns and they will never get loan waiver, which would actually be very beneficial to them.
