There are similar signs that the issue of freedom fighter Savarkar will be prominent in the coming time as well. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has now written a letter to the Chief Minister demanding that the Bandra-Versova Sea Link be named after Swatantra Veer Savarkar. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced that the coastal road will be named after Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Devendra Fadnavis then thanked him.



What are the demands of Devendra Fadnavis?

Devendra Fadnavis wrote a letter on March 13. The letter demanded new names for Coastal Road, Sea Link and Trans Harbour Link. It has been announced that the coastal road will be named after Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Two demands have also been made in the letter that the Bandra-Versova Sea Link should be named after freedom fighter Savarkar and the Trans Harbour Link in Mumbai should be named after Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced that the Coastal Highway, which is the lifeline of Mumbai, will be named after Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. The Chief Minister also informed that a magnificent statue of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj will be erected in the coastal highway area of Mumbai. He explained that the responsibility of the state government is to provide all facilities to the Maratha community.
