Former Maharashtra Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, alleged on Monday that NCP leader, Nawab Malik has connections with the underworld, highlighted reports. This came amidst his response to allegations that a music video he was associated with was financed by a drug peddler who is presently in jail.

Based on accounts, Fadnavis believes these claims are “laughable”, adding that he is waiting for the Diwali festivities to be completed to showcase evidence of Malik’s relations with criminals in the underworld. The “River song” project featured Fadnavis’s wife, Amruta Fadnavis as the singer.

During a press conference on Monday, Fadnavis elaborated that those with connections with the underworld shouldn’t talk about him. Adding that he will showcase Malik’s underworld connections post-Diwali.

He then went on to question the mental stability of Malik and stated that the song’s team that produced the video had already mentioned on Sunday that the individual named as the Finance head was brought on board by the creative team. Fadnavis further went on to mention that the picture doing rounds on social media that was tweeted by Malik is four years old.

According to reports, the former Chief Minister is of the opinion that Malik is attempting to pressurize the NCB into making the charge sheet against his son-in-law weak. He then went on to state that whilst Malik has lit a firecracker prior to Diwali, he will light a bigger one post the festivity.

Recently, Malik had made several statements against the BJP, claiming that it was hand in glove to enlarge the drugs business in Maharashtra. He also went on to question NCB Zonal Director, Sameer Wankhede’s religion.

In addition to this, Mohit Bharatiya, former general secretary of BJP Mumbai filed a Rs 100cr defamation suit against Malik for dragging his and his family members name in the Mumbai cruise drug case.
