After Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a criminal case against Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar in connection with the MSCB scam case, the party workers and leaders were seen protesting across Maharashtra.

Pawar had earlier decided to visit ED’s office in Mumbai to understand the charges against him even though no summon was issued against the senior leader. While questioning the timing of the complaint, the NCP chief had said that he will provide any information being sought by ED.

However, Pawar cancelled his plan to visit ED office at Mumbai’s Ballard Pier after being approached by Mumbai Commissioner Sanjay Barve. Pawar said that considering the law and order situation, he has cancelled his plan to visit the ED office.

The Mumbai Commissioner visited Pawar’s residence and urged him to not visit ED office in Mumbai saying that the law and order situation might turn bad. Pawar further thanked Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Shiv Sena for coming out in his support.

The ED also wrote to Pawar saying that he is not required to visit but they’ll call him if needed. While keeping in mind the protests organised by NCP workers, the police have imposed Section 144 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in the vicinity around the ED office.
