NCP donates INR 2 crore to assist the government in COVID-19 crisis

As per reports, Sharad Pawar, after returning from the hospital, immediately instructed his party members about the relief fund, keeping the current COVID-19 crisis and the challenging situations in mind.

NCP State President Jayant Patil, on Friday, April 30, 2021, informed that a total of INR 2 crore is being provided by the NCP to the Chief Minister's Assistance Fund for assistance for vaccination. NCP MLAs and MPs have also contributed one month's salary to this fund.

According to the information received from the party, NCP President Sharad Pawar was constantly reviewing the COVID-19 situation while he was admitted. He was observing the situation on a daily basis, to understand shortage of remdesivir injections, concerns related to vaccination and emergency in the supply of oxygen.

After being discharged from the hospital, Sharad Pawar first reviewed the state's health system and directed that the party will provide assistance to the state. NCP MLAs and MPs offered to help healthcare workers, police and government employees who died due to the Coronavirus infection. Information regarding the same was shared on NCP's official Twitter handle.

It is said that after returning  from the hospital, Sharad Pawar immediately instructed his party members about the relief fund, keeping the COVID-19 crisis and the challenging situations in mind. He stated that a comprehensive plan for the vaccination drive was essential for Maharashtra.

To ease the process, a cheque worth INR 1 crore was handed over to the Chief Minister's Assistance Fund on behalf of NCP Welfare Trust. This will help in reducing the cost of vaccines as well as reduce the financial burden on the state.

Besides this, another cheque worth INR 1 crore will be given to the Chief Minister along with one month's salary of the members of the Legislative Assembly, Legislative Council and MPs in the state, informed State President Jayant Patil.

He also appealed to those who can afford the cost of vaccines to reduce the financial burden on the state by helping the Chief Minister's Assistance Fund.
