Amid the ongoing Maharashtra Assembly Winter Session, the opposition parties on Monday met Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasagar Rao in the evening and demanded to extend the assembly session for two more weeks.

Maharashtra Assembly Session commenced on November 19 and will last for nine days. Demanding to extend the assembly session till four weeks, the opposition said that the discussion on several important matters is pending. From Maratha-Dhangar reservation to drought in the state, the opposition is adamant to discuss the same in Vidhan Sabha.

At the inception, the ruling government had to face the dissatisfaction from the opposition parties. The opposition wants the legislature to discuss issues such as demand for reservation, drought, the killing of tigress Avni, farmers' loan waiver, problems faced by Anganwadi workers, education, law and order. 

Therefore, the opposition has demanded more time for the assembly session. Maharashtra Legislative Council’s Opposition leader Dhananjay Munde has written to the governor regarding the same.
