Every year, September 28th marks the birth anniversary of India's melody queen, Lata Mangeshkar. Remembering her on the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, took to Twitter to share a special message for his beloved Lata didi. He also informed that a chowk will be named after Late Lata Mangeshkar at Ayodhya and that this was a tribute from the nation to one of the India's greatest icons.

Sharing his message on Twitter, he said, "Remembering Lata Didi on her birth anniversary. There is so much that I recall…the innumerable interactions in which she would shower so much affection. I am glad that today, a Chowk in Ayodhya will be named after her. It is a fitting tribute to one of the greatest Indian icons."

In another tweet, he added, "In Lata Didi’s honour a Chowk is being named after her in Ayodhya."

Observing the special day and sharing his heartfelt tribute, he said that Lataji was melodious and kind soul, often referred to as Maa Saraswati, who stumped the world with a divine voice. She did Sadhana and we all got the boon. He also underlined the Veena that was unveiled in Ayodhya, at the Chowk, and said that this would become the symbol of musical practise.

Reports add that  a total of 92 wide lotuses have been made alongside the floating waters of the lake in the chowk complex.

PM Modi also remembered Lata didi's sweetness and voice which mesmerised him every time he spoke to her. He also said that she expressed happiness after the Bhumi pujan of the much-anticipated Ram Temple was completed.

He said that just like Lata didi's conscious awareness on civic duties, this tribute from the government will inspire several people in India and across the world to focus on their devotion for duty, and that the Veena will resonate the development of Ayodhya and become the inspiration. PM further emphasised that as Indians, we need to take the responsibility of passing the culture of India to the upcoming generations.

He concluded the speech by saying that Lata Didi's vocals will continue to connect every particle of this country for ages to come.
