Maharashtra political party, Shiv Sena on Wednesday said that though Congress chief Rahul Gandhi’s ‘development book’ has improved and he has support from his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, they pretty much lack the level of leadership as compared to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The remarks come two days after the pre-poll alliance between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena.
Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray responded to the criticism from opposition regarding the alliance, and in an editorial in the party mouthpiece Saamna, Thackeray said questions on tie-up are less in the minds of people but much more among political opponents as these "insects" will be crushed due to the alliance.
The editorial justified the alliance and said that they weren’t helpless for power but they intend to positively approach the questions such as, why did it ally with the BJP despite differences in 2014, will the Ram Temple be constructed, will there be Sena's chief minister.
The daily further stated that BJP President Amit Shah had arrived himself at the Sena chief’s residence ‘Matoshree’. After which, both leaders had a discussion and decided to give the alliance a chance.
He even stated that if (Bihar chief minister and JD-U head) Nitish Kumar could join the NDA despite differences of opinion with Modi, then the Sena has always been a part of the BJP-led coalition.
