Mumbai - “Provide basic facilities to the citizens first and then bring birds like penguins,” taunted NCP MP Supriya Sule to the BMC rulers while addressing a women’s conclave held at the hall of Rashtriya Mill Mazdoor Sangh on Tuesday. She further said that those speaking Marathi only in speeches should also absorb this into their behaviour and provide basic facilities to the citizens who are facing problems like potted roads, unclean sewers and nullahs. This country is run with only one principle and that is development and change of rulers. She also demanded that Central government should provide good local train facilities to the Mumbaikars before embarking on the Bullet Train project. The electorates are being lured with projects worth thousands of crore rupees but where are the funds for these projects, she asked. Sule also stressed the need for change in the BMC guard and assured to construct toilets in each ward if voted to power.
Meanwhile, Sule also unveiled an app of the NCP initiated for the solutions of social problems. City NCP chief Sachin Ahir, MLC Vidya Chavhan, city women’s wing president Surekha Pednekar, Aditi Nalawade, corporator Ratna Mahale, Minakshi Patil and others were present on this occasion.
