Patil's decision to submit his resignation came after the meeting with other Congress MLAs at his residence

Ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly polls, former Congress leader Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil finally resigned from his legislative position. Patil submitted his resignation to Maharashtra Legislative Assembly speaker Haribhau Bagde to quit from his position as an MLA. Patil’s decision to provide resignation came after the meeting with other Congress MLAs at his residence.  

Earlier, Maharashtra Irrigation Minister Girish Mahajan had informed that Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil will join BJP after the new government was formed. This happened after Sujay Vikhe Patil joined BJP ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Along with Vikhe Patil, MLA Abdul Sattar might also join the BJP.

On Tuesday, in the meeting held at the residence of Vikhe-Patil, several Congress MLAs including Abdul Sattar and Bharat Bhalke followed Shiv Sena leader Narayan Patil along with Congress MP Ranjeet Nimbalkar also expressed their displeasure.
