Mumbai IAS officer transferred to State Water Supply department after anti-Gandhi remarks on Twitter

After making controversial comments about Mahatma Gandhi, IAS officer Nidhi Choudhari was transferred from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to State Water Supply Department. The IAS officer had thanked Nathuram Godse for '31.1.1948'. Later, she deleted the tweet as she received flak online. Here's what she said,

As a result, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar had written a letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis and had demanded exemplary action against the officer. 

Demanding Nidhi's suspension, NCP legislator Jitendra Awhad said, "The IAS officer has insulted our father of nation Mahatma Gandhi ji. In fact, she has gone on to say thank you to Godse. This is not accepted at all."

After which she posted a tweet displaying how she respected Gandhi and would never spread hate against him. She also said that people had 'misunderstood her sarcasm'.
