The post of Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly has been vacant for the last four months. Despite following up with the Speaker, no decision has been taken on it. Therefore, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray ordered the MLAs to raise this issue in the House now.
The alliance has consistently demanded from the government that the post of Leader of the Opposition be given to Shiv Sena as per the rules of the legislature. It has been written to the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. However, no official decision has been taken by the Speaker yet. Against this backdrop, Thackeray held discussions with the MLAs. The meeting was held in the hall of the Leader of Opposition in the Council, Ambadas Danve. The performance of the MLAs was reviewed during this time.

There was only discussion about giving the post of Leader of Opposition by the Speaker. But why are questions not being raised in the House about this, Thackeray asked all the MLAs. Also, till now, you have gone to the Speaker's office and corresponded. But now, raise your voice directly in the House. Ask the Speaker for an answer on this.
Thackeray ordered the MLAs to prepare a strategy so that this issue comes to the fore and the Speaker can take a decision. Due to their majority, the ruling party does not allow the opposition to enter the House. They try to rush the proceedings. So, raise your voice outside on the steps instead of in the hall. When it was pointed out to Thackeray that not all MLAs were present at this time, he expressed displeasure.
