On Saturday, June 11, the BJP managed to get all its three candidates elected in the Rajya Sabha 2022 elections. The elected candidates included Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Anil Bonde and Dhananjay Mhadik.

While the Shiv Sena fielded two candidates, only Sanjay Raut managed to get elected while Sanjay Pawar lost. On the other hand, Congress's Imran Pratapgadi and NCP's Praful Patel emerged victorious.

According to reports, the battle was between Sanjay Pawar from Shiv Sena and Dhananjay Mhadik from BJP for the sixth seat. Following the second round of voting, Mhadik managed to bag 41 votes, while Pawar secured 33.

The other two BJP candidates, Goyal and Bonde attained the foremost votes at 48 each. Likewise, Patel received 43 votes, Pratapgadi got 44 votes and Raut registered 41 votes.

Based on accounts, from the 288 members in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, 285 voted in Friday's Rajya Sabha elections. Nawab Malik and Anil Deshmukh from the NCP were not permitted to cast their votes by the court since they are in judicial custody.

Moreover, Shiv Sena MLA, Ramesh Latke passed away last month. Another Shiv Sena MLA, Suhas Kande's vote was declared invalid.

While the polling was completed at 3.30 pm, it was stopped after objections from the MVA and BJP, who accused five members of flouting the code of conduct. This issue was reportedly referred to the Election Commission of India, who following seeing the video only declared one member, Suhas Kande's vote invalid.
