Rajya Sabha bid farewell to 40 parliamentarians on Wednesday which includes Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar and Bollywood star actress Rekha. Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished them well for their future at the farewell.

Sachin Tendulkar as a cricketer has set several milestones but as a Rajya Sabha member, he rarely participated in the sessions.

There are only 12 nominated members, at this time, in the Rajya Sabha and four of them will be retired at the end of this session. The second stage for the budget session will end on April 5 but the four members have only three days left in the upper house.

Earlier on December 21, 2017, Sachin tried his luck to speak for the first time in the house but was unable to do so because of the chaos in the house. He wanted to speak about the future of sports in this country. For the last two years, Sachin’s presence in the house was very minimal.
