There was a time when Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s fans used to wait with bated breath to see the god of the cricket. Right from a common man to politicians, all were his fans.
However, when Sachin Tendulkar stepped in Rajya Sabha to talk about ‘Right to Play’, he was not even allowed to utter a single word. He was not given a chance to speak as ministers were busy arguing over the 2G scam.
Many times, Sachin and Rekha were targeted for not attending Rajya Sabha sessions. Out of 348 days, Sachin was present for 23 days while Rekha was present only for 18 days.
Sachin stood up but he was not allowed to speak in the Rajya Sabha. Even people who were watching TV were excited to see him speak for the first time, but he was clean bowled by other politicos.
Finally, Rajya Sabha chairman Venkaiah Naidu asked the ministers to maintain decorum and peace, but no one listened and then he suspended the session.
