Elections 2019: RPI (A) chief Ramdas Athawale to contest elections from Mumbai South Central Constituency

Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, Republican Party of India (A) President and Minister of State (MoS) for Social Justice, Ramdas Athawale on Sunday expressed his firm intentions to contest the upcoming 2019 LS elections from Mumbai South Central Constituency. 

Currently, the South Central Lok Sabha Constituency in Mumbai is occupied by Shiv Sena.

Shiv Sena leader Rahul Shewale is MP from this constituency. While addressing a gathering, the sitting MP in Rajya Sabha in NDA government, Athawale said that Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray should be generous and leave an LS seat for him. 

In order to appropriate the dreams of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray, we both should join hands. Shiv Shakti and Bhim Shakti should get together,” Athawale asserted.

RPI (A) chief Athawale had earlier said that he wanted to contest LS elections from Mumbai South Central constituency. The constituency includes areas such as Sion Koliwada, Wadala, Mahim, Dharavi, Chembur.
