Sanjay Raut, a Rajya Sabha member of the Shiv Sena, has been appointed as the Chief spokesperson of the party by CM Uddhav Thackeray.

On Tuesday, September 8, the announcement was made by the Shiv Sena in the party mouthpiece Saamana. However, besides Raut the party has appointed 10 other members as spokesperson which includes Members of Parliament (MPs) Arvind Sawant, Priyanka Chaturvedi and Dhairyashil Mane; Maharashtra ministers Anil Parab, Uday Samant and Gulabrao Patil; legislators Neelam Gorhe, Pratap Sarnaik and Sunil Prabhu. Moreover, the mayor of BMC, Kishori Pednekar, has also been appointed as the spokesperson.

This news of Raut being appointed as the Chief spokesperson comes amidst his war of words with the Actor Kangana Ranaut. The actor had earlier compared Mumbai with Pakistan-occupied Kashmir which enraged the Shiv Sena leader leading him to speak unfavourable words about Ranaut.

Speaking to the media, Raut stated that, "Maharashtra belongs to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj." He added that if someone makes such serious statements about Maharashtra or Mumbai, then it is not just a matter of one party, as it involves crores of people in the state.

Besides politicians, several Bollywood actors have also expressed their thoughts and Raut further appreciated them for raising their voice. Furthermore, he added that the government will now take necessary action, and the issue should end and not be dragged further.
