Sena ministers corner BJP on transparency

Mumbai – The Shiv Sena has started taking efforts to take on the BJP on the issue of transparency. All the ministers of State Cabinet were invited for cabinet meeting on Friday morning.

The meeting was convened at CM’s official residence Varsha instead of Sahyadri Guest House or the Mantralaya. The ministers of Shiv Sena-BJP had come together for the first time after the BMC election. The BJP had taken up the issue of transparency during electioneering for the BMC polls. Now, this same issue is going against the BJP as Sena ministers demanded that opposition leaders, Lokayukt and journalists should be invited in the cabinet meeting. As Sena ministers raised this issue, finance minister Sudhir Mungantiwar and chief secretary Sumit Malik came to the rescue of chief minister. Mungantiwar said that as per law, fulfilment of this demand is impossible while Sena minister Eknath Shinde asserted that such a provision can be made in the law if BJP is serious on the issue of transparency in government’s functioning.

A senior Sena leader said that the country has accepted some laws made in the Maharashtra Legislature. The CM should take initiative on the issue of transparency and keep an ideal in front of the nation.

It is to be mentioned here that the BJP leaders have levelled serious charges against Shiv Sena and its president Uddhav Thackeray during the BMC polls. The BJP will now have to face Shiv Sena attack as well as the opposition parties in the session of legislature beginning from March 6.
Sena has planned to corner the BJP on various issues including corruption in the BJP-ruled Nagpur municipal corporation.
