Jaywant Parab, a senior leader from the Shiv Sena and general secretary of the Indian Labor Army, died on Saturday, September 19.

As per reports, he was suffering for a while from ill-health. The funeral of Jaywant Parab is to take place on Sunday.

In the past, Parab had also briefly worked in the Congress party, after which he joined the homegrown Shiv Sena in 2011. Parab left the Shiv Sena soon after former CM Narayan Rane was removed from the party in 2005. However, he said that he had left Shiv Sena to mislead Rane who told him that he was going to join the NCP.

Earlier, Hasan Mushrif, Rural Development Minister along with Energy Minister Nitin Raut had tested positive for the coronavirus on Friday.

In the recent past, ministers Jitendra Awhad (housing), Ashok Chavan (PWD), Dhananjay Munde (social justice), Sunil Kedar (animal husbandry), Balasaheb Patil (cooperation), Aslam Shaikh (textile), Abdul Sattar (MoS-rural development), Sanjay Bansode (MoS-environment) and Vishwajit Kadam (MoS-cooperation) had tested positive for COVID-19.
