Mumbai Police Conducted SSR Death Investigation With Integrity: Sena’s Sanjay Raut
SHARES

As the Supreme Court, today asked for a CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) probe in the Sushant Singh Rajput case on Wednesday, Shiv Sena MP and vocal voice in the media, Sanjay Raut has said that raising doubts on the credibility or capabilities of the Mumbai Police department is “a conspiracy against the city police.”

Although the Supreme Court decision maintained that Mumbai Police conducted the probe as per protocol, the court made it clear that it was wrong to create obstacles for the Bihar Police team that was also investigating the Bollywood star’s death that jolted the nation collectively.

“The Mumbai Police are fully capable of doing a good investigation... They investigated the matter with complete integrity,” Raut said. The Shiv Sena leader refrained from making any comments on the legal proceedings.

However, when asked about Tourism Minister Aaditya Thackeray and his relation to the case, Raut asked not to involve his name. Meanwhile, Raut has remained tight-lipped on whether the State will challenge the Supreme Court ruling.

Previously, Sanjay Raut has been vocally opposed to the handing of the investigations to the CBI and has even questioned the motivation behind those asking for a central probe.

The mystery surrounding Rajput’s death on June 14 has also given rise to conspiracy theories, floated mostly on social media platforms. One can only hope that the case is resolved at the earliest and that the star’s fans and his family can get some well-deserved closure.
