Mumbai – Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP and editor of the party mouthpiece ‘Saamana’, Sanjay Raut took the witness stand on Monday in the controversial case of Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray’s last testament and will.

Raut stated in court that he has been working with the newspaper for nearly two decades and that he used to consult with Balasaheb Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray in relation to important news reports. Jaidev Thackeray used to write a column for this newspaper, added Raut. The High Court has been hearing the property dispute of the warring Thackeray siblings and the court had issued a strict warning to Raut to testify in this case, after his continued absence in the court. Balasaheb Thackeray had prepared his will in December 2011. Jaidev, son of Balasaheb Thackeray, had claimed in the court that his father was not in the proper psychological frame of mind to prepare a will.
