Byculla - Ahead of municipal elections, the BJP in Byculla seems to have divided into two groups. One is led by party leader Rohitdas Lokhande while the second is led by women’s wing general secretary Malti Patil. Ward no. 207 is reserved for women where Rohitdas Lokhande is trying to get candidature for his wife Surekha Lokhande while Malti Patil is also trying her best to grab the party candidature from here. Both the groups are launching various campaigns to attract the voters. Rohitdas Lokhande was earlier with the Congress party and he had contested from Ward no. 204 as an independent candidate while Malti Patil was in the NCP. Both of these leaders joined the BJP after the party came to power in the State. Now, it will be interesting to see who succeeds in grabbing the candidature from this ward.
