Ahead of assembly elections, Swikruti Sharma, wife of encounter specialist Pradeep Sharma, has joined the Shiv Sena at Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Nandanvan bungalow Monday. In 2019 Assembly polls, Pradeep Sharma contested the assembly election from Virar constituency on a ticket of undivided Shiv Sena.
Pradeep Sharma was an accused in the Mansukh Hiran murder case, which is connected to the 2021 Antilia terror threat incident where gelatin sticks were found outside the residence of industrialist Mukesh Ambani.

In 2021, the BJP had targeted the undivided Shiv Sena over Sharma’s alleged involvement in the Antilia bomb scare case. The National Investigation Agency then arrested him in connection with the Antilia terror threat case and he was granted bail by the Supreme Court in August 2023.
