Mumbai - The bhoomipujan of the Shivaji Maharaj Memorial in the Arabian Sea will be held at the hands of prime minister Narendra Modi on December 24. With a view to make this programme a memorable one, soil and water from 16 different places across the state has been brought. The memorial will be built in two phases. On one hand this grand memorial will take shape, on the other hand it is also being opposed by the Akhil Bharatiya Machhimar Kruti Samiti. Though the grand memorial of Shivaji Maharaj will boost the tourism industry, opposition to it has attracted the attention of the National Green Tribunal where a petition in this regard is being heard. Another petition has been filed in the High Court.
