The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has made efforts to simplify the homeownership process for lottery winners.

MHADA has released a document under the "quick links" section of its website. The document is titled "Mumbai Board Lottery 2023: Registration Fees and Stamp Duty." It provides crucial information for lottery winners.

The document includes details such as the MHADA PAN and TAN numbers and the registration and stamp duty amounts. These details are essential for completing the eSBTR form on a bank's website.

Each lottery winner will receive a message and an email containing these details. The information will also be publicly posted at the housing authority's Bandra East headquarters.

The changes were prompted by HT's report from December 12, which highlighted the need for this information to be readily available to prospective homeowners.

The MHADA online system is a very effective system. Applicants can also make appointments for possession and allotment. The MHADA office verifies the applicants' genuine documentation, but the information about their allocation and possession is made public on the internet.

Applicants have the option of an online or offline agreement process, reducing the need for multiple visits. MHADA representatives met with state department representatives and revised the document for user convenience.
