Mumbai police apprehended Bhai Jagtap, Mumbai Congress leader, and several other party members during an anti-Adani protest outside the National Stock Exchange (NSE) building in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) today, March 1.

Hundreds of Congress party members, gathered outside the building of NSE and began yelling anti-Adani slogans. The protest gained momentum as more people joined in, expressing their concerns about Adani Group's activities. The protesters were against the inclusion of Adani Group equities in specific indices, as they believed it would give the group more power and control over the stock market.

About 40 to 50 party members and leaders were apprehended and transferred to the BKC, Kherwadi, and Nirmal Nagar police stations. The protesters were later released, and no one was arrested. The action was carried out in accordance with the Bombay Police Act, 1951.

Jagtap, in a statement, said that they were protesting against the inclusion of Adani Group equities in specific indices and urged the government to take Adani's passport. The Adani group has refuted claims of accounting fraud and stock manipulation made against its companies. However, many still have concerns about the group's activities, and the protest showed that people are not willing to remain silent.

The apprehension of Congress party members during the anti-Adani protest has once again brought the issue of the Adani Group's alleged wrongdoing to the forefront, while the Adani Group has denied any wrongdoing.
