On Sunday, January 7, Mumbai witnessed a grand event called the Mazdock Mumbai 10K Run Challenge. The event marked the 250th anniversary of Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL).

Azad Maidan was filled with almost 3,000 runners. The run started at 6.30 am. Former cricket player Dilip Vengsarkar flagged off the event.

The route passed by famous locations. These included Churchgate Station, Oval Maidan, the National Centre for Performing Arts, and the Bombay High Court (HC).

The winners received prize money totaling over INR 5 lakh. The prizes were given in several categories of competition.

Sanjeev Singhal, the Chairman and Managing Director of MDL, praised the runners. He admired their dedication to training. Dilip Vengsarkar also spoke at the award presentation. He congratulated everyone who finished the run. He highlighted the importance of physical health in maintaining mental strength.

Participants also received goodie bags. These contained a bandana, water sipper, waist pouch, and quality Dri-Fit T-shirt. Medals were given to the winners of the 3K and 10K races.

This event united individuals of all ages to celebrate wellness, health, and marine heritage.
