Mumbai's popular temple, Siddhivinayak, in Prabhadevi, has been the favourites for many. Many Mumbaikars and people around the world express their belief in the Lord and visit to seek blessings from the devotee. This temple is also considered one of the richest temples of India.
As per recent updates, it is reported that a staunch devotee of Bappa has donated 35kg gold to the Siddhivinayak temple. This donation was received last week and would be worth approximately Rs 14 crore. Every year, millions of devotees donate crores of rupees as donation, eithe rin form of cash or jewellery.
The trust of the Siddhivinayak trust has mentioned that this donation of 35 kg gold was made by one person, whose name was not disclosed for personal reasons by the devotee. The chairperson of Siddhivinayak Temple Trust, Adesh Bandekar however confirmed the news and mentioned that the donated gold was used to make the door and ceiling of the temple.
The temple was closed between January 15 and 19, 2020, for the preparation of the annual festival and the new decor using the donated gold was completed during this period. The team also coloured the idol in saffron and performed the necessary pran pratishta and rituals as scheduled.
Data states that Siddhivinayak Temple Trust has received donations worth Rs 410 crore which was used for social work. The amount has seen an increase from the previously mentioned Rs 320 crores in 2017.
Sharing the news, Bandekar added, "Through this fund, we will continue to help people who knock on the doors of the temple. We have helped 20,000 people until now who get help up to Rs 25,000. We have spent Rs 38 crores on this until now."
