Women now will be allowed in the sanctum sanctorum of Haji Ali. In 2012, women were banned from entering Haji Ali's sanctum sanctorum citing religious reasons. Following to which, activists had filed PIL in 2014. Taking PIL in consideration, Bombay HC today gave the historic judgment of allowing women.However, Bombay HC has given 6 weeks to Haji Ali trust to seek SC. Activist Trupti Desai, leader of Bhumata brigade, who is been fighting for women's entry in to temples issue, going to visit Haji Ali on 28th August.
