Mumbai has been synonymous with iconic places of worship which include ISKCON, established back in 1978 and worships Sri Krishna in the form of a monotheistic deity.

The grand temple boasts of a spacious marble temple, an auditorium, a restaurant and a twin-towered seven-storey guest house where visitors can stay. Moreover, the presiding deities at the temple are Sri Sri Gaura-Nitai, Sri Sri Radha Rasabihari and Sri Sri Sita Rama Laxman Hanuman. The deities were personally installed by His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

Located in Juhu, this temple is frequented by thousands of people and devotees during festive occasions. Its Daan Paatra Foundation is the one initiative started by members of the temple, which has received widespread praise for raising funds for various charitable causes. Moreover, several international movies and shows have also depicted the Hare Krishna culture.

Today, ISKCON has established more than 600 centres all over the world and has millions of followers. The temple was earlier re-opened for visitors on October 5 last year amidst the pandemic. The temple was closed for visitors for nearly six months after the imposition of the lockdown in the city due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.

According to an ISKCON release, the opening hours on weekdays are from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. On weekends, the temple will be open from 9.30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
