Just post two weeks after the Triple Talaq bill was passed by the Lok Sabha and is on its way to becoming a law, a woman in Thane district’s Bhiwandi city has claimed that her husband has given triple talaq to her on ₹100 stamp paper.
The woman, Shabnam received the divorce papers without any prior expected warning.
She told that her husband used to beat her as she could not meet his dowry demands. The divorce papers were delivered to her through the post office. “I want justice”, she said requesting the authorities to take strict action against such offenders.
Bhiwandi Police have registered a case against five people in this regard.
