The Bombay Gymkhana in association with Badminton 45 is hosting the Aditya Birla Capital-27th G.D. Birla Memorial Masters Inter-Club Badminton Tournament 2020. The tournament will take place at the Bombay Gymkhana courts starting from today and will be played till March 15, 2020.

The G.D. Birla badminton tournament is being promoted by Badminton Gurukul and organized under the aegis of Greater Mumbai Badminton Association and Maharashtra Badminton Association.

The five-day event will comprise of Team Championship, individual men’s (45+ age category) singles and doubles; men’s combination 85+ & 110+ age categories; women’s combination 75+ age; mixed combination 80+ age and professional singles and doubles.

The tournament is open to all Clubs and Gymkhanas affiliated to the state of Maharashtra only. However, the tournament committee reserves the right to allow other entries.

All the enthusiastic players representing their respective clubs and gymkhanas will be seen fighting it out for the top honours in this competition. The champions and runners-up in all the events will be presented with trophies.

In other news, the Mumbai Hockey Association (MHA) will be holding trials to select the Mumbai team that will participate in the forthcoming 10th Hockey India Junior Men & Women National Hockey Championship to be held at Chennai & Ranchi starting from 10th April 2020 respectively.  

The selection trials will be held at the MHAL Mahindra Stadium on March,  11, 12, and 13, 2020 (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday) at 2:00 pm for Women and 4:00 pm for Men. Players born on or after 1/1/2001 are eligible to attend the selection trials.

Players have been requested to report with their playing kit and proof of age (birth certificate).
