Last year, Jakupovic had reached the finals, only to be outplayed by last year's top seed Aryna Sabalenka. In the meantime, Jakupovic will keep her dream to victory alive as she’ll advance to the semifinals against Irina Khromacheva of Russia, who beat Greece’s Valentini Grammatikopoulou, 7-5, 4-6, 6-1.

Co-incidentally, as Jakupovic will clash against Khromacheva in the singles semifinals, she will team up with her as the top seeds in the doubles event to take on the pair, Natela Dzalamidze and Veronika Kudermetova, in the semifinals.
