Nubair Shah Sheikh's hat-trick; Wins Satish Sabnis Chess tournament for the third time

In the recently concluded Satish Sabnis Open Rapid Chess Tournament, Nubair Shah Sheikh registered a hat-trick of wins in the tournament for the third consecutive year. Sheikh was awarded a cash prize of ₹27,000, a trophy, and a certificate. Pranav Shetty emerged as the runner-up for the tournament and was awarded ₹21,000, a trophy, and a certificate.

The Mumbai District Chess Association-approved Satish Sabnis Chess Tournament was organised by the Satish Sabnis Foundation on April 7. The sixth edition of the tournament took place at MIG Club, Bandra East. 

Around 270 players had taken part in the MIG Club-organised tournament consisting of junior players along with visually impaired players. The event was attended by Satish Sabnis Foundation trustee Milind Sabnis, MIG Cricket Club General Secretary Nikunj Vyas, MIG Cricket Club Chairman Sanjeev Patki, and Mumbai District Chess Association Vishwanath Madhav who also felicitated the winners of the tournament.
