Kingfisher Ultra celebrated a successful year of magnificent racing events in the country. After gaining high popularity in its previous editions, the fourth edition of the Kingfisher Ultra Indian Derby, the extravaganza, was loved with its great line-up of thoroughbreds and attendance of the city’s crème-da-la-crème at the Royal Western India Turf Club. February 3, 2019, Sunday featured a power-packed and majestic line-up of 4-year-old thoroughbred colts, geldings, and fillies on the race-track climaxing with the blue riband race. The Kingfisher Ultra Indian Derby, with a remarkable performance in front of a large crowd of 30,000 people.

Star Superior kept his date with destiny in the most anticipated event of the Indian racing calendar. Trained by Rajesh Narredu and ridden by Suraj Narredu, Star superior thundered towards victory to win the coveted trophy at the Royal Western India Turf Club.  He covered close to 5 lengths on the favorite Sir Cecil to win by a widening margin of another five-length dashing the hopes of many while proving that he is the best mile and half horse in the country.

The Kingfisher Ultra Indian Derby 2019 made for a perfect weekend with an amalgamation of music and fashion, infused with a dash of adrenaline. The racing event saw popular names of the city celebrate the sport and soak into the spirit of the game. The weekend leading up to the Derby was indeed more than just a race, it was a festive atmosphere with a glamourous prelude of grand magnitude. 

The run-up to the Kingfisher Ultra Indian Derby kicked off with much fanfare at the Breakfast With Champions with behind the scenes look at the horses. This year’s derby weekend was a truly a one of a kind experiences as it offered best of the world of racing, music and fun. Crowds moved and swayed to tunes of the artists such as DJ Chico and Preeti with scintillating performances by Forefront and OnEmpire.
