Two prolific track and field athletes from Navi Mumbai - Rosalin Lewis (19) and Tanishka Shetty (18) - have been picked for the second edition of Khelo India Youth Games-2019. Khelo India is an initiative from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and is scheduled to be held at Shivchhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi, Pune between January 10 and 13, 2019.

Lewis is an international player and has been picked up to compete against the athletes in her pet event 200-metre sprint in U-21 girls’ category. On the other hand, Shetty is a national medal winner and qualified for the long jump event in the under-21 girls' group.

The Directorate of Sports and Youth Services, Maharashtra, has finalized the list of 20 girls from across the state in the under-21 age group to participate in various field and track events while representing the state.

The selection of these athletes has been made on the basis of their performances at various school, college, and national level events in the current sporting season. Over 5, 000 athletes will be taking part in as many as 15 events including individuals and team games.
